In 1983, Alan’s son Alexander ‘Sandy’ Corrie bought the company and grew the range to include a variety of well-known brands in the global tackle industry. He also implemented a name change becoming what we know it as today - Tacspo - short for ‘tackle and sport’, to reflect the company’s more comprehensive product range.
Sandy’s son Alex Corrie joined the company as warehouse manager in 2005, and he has since worked his way up to become General Manager. Alex now oversees a majority of the overall operations of the company while Sandy has taken a step back, spending time at his farm in northern New South Wales and enjoying the delight that comes with being a grandad.
Today Tacspo’s customer base includes buying groups and independent tackle and outdoors stores all around Australia. The company also exports a select range of product to various countries around the world. Our search for high quality products and expansion of existing brands continues 70 years on and every product in the Tacspo range is scrutinised to ensure it stands up to our harsh Australian conditions and punishing fishing methods.
